The short version

The Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro are the same size. Both have a 6.3-inch screen, the Google Tensor G5 chip, IP68 water resistance, Pixelsnap magnetic Qi2 wireless charging and seven years of OS, security and Pixel Drop updates. Google rates both at 24+ hours of battery life.

For the first time, the base Pixel has a telephoto lens. The Pixel 10 has a 10.8MP 5x telephoto, so you get real optical zoom without paying for the Pro.

The Pro still wins on cameras. Its main, ultra wide and telephoto sensors are all larger or higher resolution, and the selfie camera jumps from 10.5MP to 42MP. The Pro also has a sharper LTPO screen, 16GB of RAM against 12GB, Wi-Fi 7 and a temperature sensor.

Cameras: the main reason to go Pro

The Pixel 10 Pro has a 50MP main camera with a much larger 1/1.3-inch sensor.

The Pixel 10 uses a 48MP main camera with a 1/2-inch sensor. A bigger sensor takes in more light, which shows most in low light, indoors and at night.

The ultra wide gap is big too. The Pro has a 48MP ultra wide with autofocus, which also handles Macro Focus close-ups. The Pixel 10 has a 13MP ultra wide. Both phones have a 5x telephoto, but the Pro's is 48MP against 10.8MP, so zoomed shots keep more detail. The Pro's Pro Zoom goes up to 100x. The Pixel 10's Super Zoom goes up to 20x.

Selfies and video calls look sharper on the Pro thanks to its 42MP front camera. The Pro also adds Pro camera controls, 50MP High-Res Portrait Mode and 8K video through Video Boost.

That said, the Pixel 10 still takes excellent photos. Most of Google's camera features, like Night Sight, Add Me, Camera Coach, Magic Eraser and Best Take, work on both.

Screen

The Pro also gets a little brighter: up to 3300 nits peak against 3000 nits. Outdoors, both are easy to read. Side by side, the Pro looks a bit crisper.

Performance and RAM

Both phones use the same Google Tensor G5 chip, so speed in apps and games is very close.

Storage is the other difference. The Pixel 10 comes in 128GB or 256GB. The Pro goes up to 1TB. If you shoot a lot of video, the Pro gives you more room to grow.

Battery and charging

Google rates both phones at 24+ hours, and up to 100 hours with Extreme Battery Saver.

Charging is the same on both. They reach up to 55% in about 30 minutes with a 30W USB-C PPS charger, sold separately. Both support Pixelsnap Qi2 magnetic wireless charging up to 15W. If you want faster charging, the Pixel 10 Pro XL supports 45W wired and 25W wireless.

Design and extras

The two phones have the same 152.8 by 72 by 8.6 mm body and weigh almost the same: 204 g against 207 g.

Both have Gorilla Glass Victus 2, an aluminum frame, a nano-SIM plus eSIM and IP68.
