What decides your Nintendo Switch trade-in value
- Condition. Scratches, dents and cracks move your offer down a grade. The table above shows what each grade pays.
- Locks. Your accounts must be removed and the console reset, and it must not be reported lost or stolen.
How to check that you have a Nintendo Switch
The model number is printed on the back of the console (on the Switch OLED, under the kickstand). HAC-001 is the original Switch, HEG-001 is the Switch OLED, HDH-001 is the Switch Lite and BEE-001 is the Switch 2.
How to get your Nintendo Switch ready to sell
- Deregister it as your pass-enabled console (older software calls it your primary console). Open Nintendo eShop, pick your user, tap your account icon, then Settings, then Pass-enabled Console, then Deregister.
- Reset it while online. Go to System Settings, then System, then Formatting Options, then Initialize Console.
When is the best time to sell your Nintendo Switch?
Sooner is usually better. Trade-in values tend to fall as devices age, and often drop when a newer model comes out. Our offers move with the market. When you get a quote, that price is locked in while you ship.
