Which iPhones Have USB-C, MagSafe, eSIM, 5G and the Action Button?

USB-C arrived with the iPhone 15. MagSafe started with the iPhone 12 (but not the iPhone 16e or any SE). 5G started with the iPhone 12 and SE (3rd gen). The Action button started with the iPhone 15 Pro. eSIM has been in every iPhone since the XS and XR, and in Canada the iPhone 17 family, Air, 17e, 18 Pro and Duo are eSIM only, with no SIM tray.

Which iPhones have USB-C?
iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max and every newer iPhone, including 16e, 17e and Air. The iPhone 14 and older use Lightning. The Pro models from the 15 Pro onward and the iPhone Duo support faster USB 3 transfers (up to 10Gb/s) with the right cable. The others use USB 2 speeds.
Which iPhones have MagSafe?
Every iPhone 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 model, Air, 17e, 18 Pro and Duo. Not the iPhone 16e, and not the iPhone SE (2nd or 3rd gen), which charge with regular Qi wireless pads only. Shop MagSafe accessories.
Which iPhones have eSIM, and which are eSIM only?
- eSIM plus a SIM tray: iPhone XS, XS Max, XR, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16 families, 16e and SE (2nd and 3rd gen), as sold in Canada.
- eSIM only in Canada: iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, Air, 17e, 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max and Duo. You cannot use a physical SIM card.
- US models: every iPhone 14 and newer sold in the US is eSIM only, so check before buying an imported phone.

Which iPhones have 5G?
iPhone 12 and every newer iPhone, plus the iPhone SE (3rd gen). The iPhone 11, SE (2nd gen) and older are 4G LTE only.
Which iPhones have the Action button?
iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, every iPhone 16 model including 16e, every iPhone 17 model including 17e and Air, and the iPhone 18 Pro. The regular iPhone 15 and older have the ring/silent switch instead. The iPhone Duo has no Action button.
Which iPhones have the Dynamic Island?
iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max, every iPhone 15, 16 and 17 model except the 16e and 17e, the Air, 18 Pro and Duo. The 16e and 17e keep a notch.
Which iPhones have Camera Control?
iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max, 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, Air, 18 Pro and Duo. Not the 16e or 17e.
