What decides your Apple Watch SE (1st gen) trade-in value

  • Size and connectivity. We buy the Apple Watch SE (1st gen) as 40mm GPS, 40mm GPS + Cellular, 44mm GPS and 44mm GPS + Cellular. Larger cases and cellular models usually pay more.

  • Locks. The watch must be unpaired from your iPhone, which turns off Activation Lock, and not reported lost or stolen.

How to check that you have an Apple Watch SE (1st gen)

On your iPhone, open the Watch app, then My Watch, then General, then About. Tap Model Number to show the A-number, then find it on Apple's Apple Watch model list, which shows the model and case size. The case size is also engraved on the back of the watch.

How to get your Apple Watch SE (1st gen) ready to sell

  1. Unpair it from your iPhone. On your iPhone, open the Watch app, then My Watch, then All Watches. Tap the info button next to your watch, then Unpair Apple Watch. This removes Activation Lock. Erasing the watch on its own does not.
  2. Remove the cellular plan when asked during unpairing, and cancel it with your carrier.
  3. Already gave away your iPhone? Go to iCloud.com, then Find My, then All Devices, pick the watch, then Erase Apple Watch, and remove it from your account.

When is the best time to sell your Apple Watch SE (1st gen)?

Sooner is usually better. Trade-in values tend to fall as devices age, and often drop when a newer model comes out. Our offers move with the market. When you get a quote, that price is locked in while you ship.
